AI & Automation Engineer

About the role

Improve recruiting and internal operations through automation and AI-assisted tools. Your projects include workflow integrations, document processing, knowledge search and internal assistants, with human oversight and careful handling of candidate information.

What you’ll do

• Map repetitive workflows and identify useful automation opportunities.
• Build integrations using APIs, webhooks, scripts and workflow platforms.
• Prototype AI-assisted tools and evaluate quality, failure cases, latency and cost.
• Add validation, logging, retries and human review for sensitive actions.
• Document workflows, train users and monitor reliability and time saved.

What you bring

• Practical Python or JavaScript skills and experience connecting systems through APIs.
• Demonstrated ability to build and troubleshoot an automation or AI-enabled workflow.
• Understanding of structured data, access controls and secure credential handling.
• Ability to test AI outputs critically and explain limitations to nontechnical users.

What success looks like

• Repetitive workflows take less manual effort, with the improvement measured against a clear baseline.
• Automations recover from common failures and flag exceptions for human review.
• AI-assisted tools are evaluated for accuracy, cost and reliability before wider use.

Nice to have

Experience with n8n, Make, Zapier, retrieval-based AI, evaluation datasets, SQL or recruiting operations. Applied projects that explain both benefits and limitations are welcome.

Working hours & location

This is a full-time, remote role. We prefer working hours aligned with UTC−5 (UTC−4 during daylight saving time). Other U.S. time zones also work. You can apply from any time zone if you can overlap with U.S. working hours.

Compensation & benefits

Salary range: US$55,000–75,000 / year.
